Dr. Janna Henning recognized expert on trauma, grief, and hypnosis will again be live on campus at SIU. Joining us virtually are Dr. Christine Courtois, the pre-eminent expert and scholar on complex traumatic stress and treatment and Dr. Bethany Brand, internationally recognized expert on dissociation.
Dr. Christine Courtois will be conducting a virtual training on Friday, Oct. 10, from 9am-12pm CT. She will discuss foundational information regarding complex traumatic stress and Dr. Judith Hermann’s stage-oriented integrated treatment model, particularly as elaborated on by Dr. Courtois and Dr. Julian Ford. Earn 3 CE
Dr. Janna Henning will be on site and virtual and present on Friday, Oct. 10, from 1pm-4p.m CT. She will present the use of hypnosis to augment interventions in the three stages of treatment for complex traumatic stress followed by a workshop on the most recent approaches for preventing/managing vicarious traumatization and self-care for psychologists and counselor providers. Earn 3 CE
Dr. Bethany Brand will be conducting a virtual training on Sat. Oct. 11, from 9am-4pm CT. She will present foundational information about dissociative disorders and how they relate to chronic interpersonal violence exposure and complex traumatic stress. Additionally she will provide training in her Finding Solid Ground program which is utilized to treat dissociative disorders. Earn 6 CE
Dr. Janna Henning will conclude the day with a presentation on the use of hypnosis interventions in the more intermediate/advanced treatment approaches with people who have dissociative disorders.
On-site training will be provided at the SIU Simmonds Law School Auditorium.
Virtual and live presentations will be available at that site.
